The xy chromaticity diagram

This diagram shows the spectral locus in xy chromaticity coordinates. It is plotted for the CIE 1964 Standard Colorimetric Observer (10 degrees) using 5nm data from Wyszewski and Stiles (1982).

Download a high-resolution copy of the diagram in EPS format. This can be freely edited and reproduced in hard copy (but not transmitted in electronic form).

The spectral locus is plotted to an accuracy of three decimal places. However, no smoothing of the plot has been carried out and as a result the locus may look a little jagged in places. The axes of the high-res version are unequal, and users may wish to resize the diagram in a vector drawing application such as Adobe Illustrator.
